As his time in the UFC has been stormy and cold, Lesnar has an unexpected backer, so to speak. Shane Carwin, who was scheduled as Lesnar's next opponent for the UFC Heavyweight Title, posted a few lines on the forum of mixedmartialarts.com. Carwin shows an incredible amount of class in addressing the current health of Lesnar.
My family and I send our thoughts and well wishes to Brock's family, friends and training partners. We are indeed keeping you in our thoughts.Well put, Shane. Your legion of fans is sure to increase, and deservedly so.
If you sit around bashing Brock or making fun of this because of his antics you might be the very same thing you despise. As an MMA fan, as a human be concerned that one of OUR OWN has fallen and needs our support.
Get well soon UFC Heavyweight Champ Brock Lesnar.
Carwin could've easily taken the low road and called Lesnar out, but he deferred. He took the high road, and the whole MMA world is better for it. It's one thing to want to destroy your opponent while fighting. It's another to want him destroyed while he's fighting for his health.
In case you're not familiar on to what Carwin is referring to, he's referring to a serious health issue that Lesnar is battling. The issue has prompted UFC frontman Dana White to address Lesnar's health. According to MMAfighting.com, Lesnar is recovering from a bacterial infection of his intestinal tract.
White released a vlog on YouTube regarding Lesnar and his status. The whole video is almost ten minutes, but White addresses Lesnar and his status within the first minute. One thing. If you're familiar with White, you know there will be explitives involved. You've been warned.
Lesnar was labeled as The Next Big Thing at the beginning of his WWE career. It could be easily argued that the same applies to the UFC. With his antics in and out of the octogon, Lesnar has not made a ton of friends.
But he has developed some respect from a person you wouldn't think would show it.
